Suzanna Lubrano was born in Cape Verde in 1975 and moved to Rotterdam with her parents 4 years later. Suzanna took up professional singing at the age of 18, performing in the Cape Verdean band Rabelados while at the same time creating 3 successful CDs of her own, including Fofo, which contained the hit single ‘Ohi Li Oh La‘.

In 2004 Suzanna released a single in Creole, English and Dutch entitled ‘Silencio’ which was written about a Cape Verdean boy who was shot dead in broad daylight on the streets of Rotterdam.

 Suzanna is one of the most successful Cape Verdean artists around with her concerts in some countries selling out within minutes of going on sale.

In 2003, Suzanna won the award for Best West Female and Best African Female at the Kora All African Music Award. She is also the ‘Godmother’ of a new TACV Boeing.
