Artist of the Month: Gilyto
Gil Moreira Semedo, or Gilyto as he is known, was born on in Achada Galego on the island of Santiago in 1976.
Gilyto moved to Lisbon in the early 80s to be with his parents and this is still where he lives today, though he has spent a number of years in the netherlands as well.
He released his first album, Kel Tempu in 1999 and has been going strong ever since. Gilyto is considered to be one of the best Cape Verdean artists around at the moment and with his great rapport with the audience, he has attracted the name of Mr Entertainer.
